About This Place

Nestled in the heart of San Bruno, West Coast Cafe is a shining gem for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine and fine dining. This elegant yet warmly inviting restaurant captures the essence of Italy with a modern West Coast twist, creating a dining experience that delights the senses and leaves a lasting impression.

Their menu is a carefully crafted homage to traditional Italian flavors, with standout dishes that have quickly become favorites among locals and visitors alike. Start your culinary journey with the West Coast Salad, a fresh and vibrant medley of marinated calamari, scallops, and prawns arranged over crisp organic greens—a dish that perfectly balances the sea’s bounty with earthy freshness. Craving something comforting? The Pollo Parmigiana offers tender, lightly breaded chicken breast smothered in rich marinara and melted mozzarella, evoking the heart of Italian home cooking with every bite.

Pasta lovers are spoiled for choice here. The delicately textured Angel Hair tossed in a garlic-infused tomato and basil sauce sings with simplicity and brightness, while the Mixed Seafood Spaghetti boasts a flavorful medley of ocean treasures in a perfectly seasoned sauce that many tables seem to order simultaneously. For an indulgent touch, the Vitello Saltimbocca elevates veal scaloppini with savory prosciutto, mozzarella, and a sage-infused sauce that melts spectacularly on the palate.

West Coast Cafe doesn’t just stop at savory dishes—their desserts deserve a special mention. The classic Tiramisù offers a luscious, creamy finish, while the Crème Brûlée presents a beautifully caramelized top that gives way to a smooth, vanilla-infused custard beneath. Coffee lovers will appreciate expertly brewed Espressos and Cappuccinos that perfectly punctuate the meal.

The dining atmosphere here ties the experience together exquisitely. Designed with traditional Italian aesthetics and an unmistakably warm, family-friendly vibe, the cafe feels both elegant and inviting. Guests consistently praise the attentive, gracious service—servers here anticipate your needs with a genuine smile, turning each meal into a personal and memorable occasion. One patron fondly recalled how a server handled a spilled glass with such swift kindness, reflecting the genuine warmth embedded in every interaction.

Though some may find the $5 surcharge for extra sauce a bit surprising, it’s a minor quibble against a backdrop of consistently fresh, flavorful dishes and thoughtful presentation. The space is perfect for everything from intimate dinners to lively gatherings, making it a cherished staple in San Bruno’s dining scene.

In short, West Coast Cafe delivers an authentic taste of Italy with impeccable service and a heartfelt ambiance that beckons you back time and again. Whether you're indulging in a sumptuous veal dish, savoring the bright acidity of their signature salads, or unwinding with a glass from their well-curated wine bar, this restaurant promises a refined yet approachable dining experience worth savoring.

Very nice Italian food. I really enjoyed their angel hair pasta and kind/ attentive service. Nice family atmosphere and traditional looking Italian design that is warm. Only complaint is if you want more sauce, they charge $5!

And when the UPS truck went around the corner a damn package fell out of the open door and blocked my lane! Well...I didn't want to ruin someone's Christmas, so I got out and picked up the box and by the time I had it in my truck the UPS truck was nowhere to be found. I looked at the address, and it was only about 3 miles away which is closer than my local UPS drop-off so I figured I'll just deliver it! On my way over to the lucky recipient of the almost lost parcel, I went past the West Coast Café and thought what a great looking place! So..As soon as I dropped off the package I headed straight there...Luckily Split! And, let me yell you something...The pasta from the West Coast Café was Spectacularly delicious! 5

My first Italian food in SF since 2020, this restaurant really make me happy! The food quality is very good, 1. Bruschetta is excellent, the bread is crispy and the tomato mix with oliver oil has refreshing taste. 2. West coast salad surprised me with a lot of calamari in the toppings. 3. Mixed Seafood spaghetti taste just right. I saw a lot of table ordering this one. 4. Veal with mozzarella cheese on top. I like the meat, tender. There is a piece of ham on top of the mozzarella cheese. I found the ham is a little salty for me. 5. Special tonight, grilled pork chop, big portion and the taste is excellent The servers are very nice and friend, excellent service and they smile all the time.

My love for Italian cuisine brought me into West Coast Cafe. It is nestled amongst lots of little shops and a vast variety of eateries. We were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Our server sopped up the full glass of water I clumsily bumped over in a nano second! With a smile on her face! I ordered lasagna which was to die for! It was a generous portion that became 2 meals. Every bite was a party in my mouth! The bread was soft and wonderful.. refills were not a problem. To spend 40-50 bucks on a meal anymore is about average. I paid my check gladly! I finished off my lasagna the next day and it was just as good as the night before. The restaurant itself isn't very big so I can imagine the line around the block wanting to get in here. I really recommend West Coast Cafe if you're in the mood for some Italian bliss!

Speciality Italian restaurant serving variety of foods for all palate. I tried the Linguine Tuttomare (pictured). It was a perfect delicious combination of fresh clams, prawns, scallops & generously spread calamari in a pomodoro sauce. They also ask for shredded parmesan cheese to be sprinkled on the pasta. Next day tried Lamb Chops (pictured). Mouth watering, delicious, had perfect ingredients and cooked well. Food did come on time, and they serve appetizer bread when you are seated. Taste was amazing and fulfilling. Restaurant has comfortable atmosphere and lot of seating space. Owner and servers take care for good experience.

West Coast Cafe is restaurant where we celebrate special occasions like birthdays. We've been here a few times. Bonus points for accommodating large parties in their back area. Our group was eleven. Everyone was happy with their appetizers, drinks and entrees. Service was excellent. They let us have a taste of the wine before committing to bottles. There are daily specials, so pay attention when the waitress is announcing them. I was really in the mood for pesto and it was not listed on the menu or the specials. The waitress was nice enough to talk to the chef to make me a pesto fettuccine with chicken. Great job everyone at West Coast Cafe.
